Painting Wood Siding.


Ive got a house with log cabin siding. im not to happy with the stained look after 2 years,(black and sooty) is there a paint that has a wood brown look that wont look horrible? anyone done this? will a solid paint hold up better than the stain? thanks in advance.

B.m. has a solid color stain called (log cabin), I put it on a deck ,looked good kinda dark ,golden brown color.

What stain product did you use originally? Solid stains and paints on exterior wood promote rot and eventually peel. A high quality semi trans stain/sealer with high mildewcide content is always going to be better in the long run.

yeah strip it and start over, then of course keep up with it at the first signs of wear or discoloration.
