One thing you may want to do is learn English and how to spell.

I am not worried about a guy who wants to paint vinyl siding taking work from me, I have plenty of work.

If you want to paint vinyl siding, check with the manufacturer of the vinyl siding for their recommendation.

as a general rule, i was told not to paint a darker colour over a lighter colour because it will end up warping the siding.

I have been told you can not paint vinyl siding a darker color than it was originally as it will cause it to warp.

Benjamin Moore makes a great paint, not sure where you live, but in Florida it is a great paint.

I live in florida as well. Im glad you guys told me that because conventional wisdom tells you to paint things darker than what they are so the other color doesn't bleed through but this is something im gonna have to research more and i will definitly look into Benjiman Moore paint! Now I imagine the primer used for vinyl siding has to be different than that used for regular walls... correct?

I've gone a couple rounds with sherwin williams on this issue. They have told me

- You can only paint lighter than existing

- You can paint only from the palette of vinyl colors in superpaint

- You can paint vinyl any color you want in superpaint

If you can pin them down on this one let me know. I've been thinking about this one quite a bit. I think if you go with an approved vinyl paint (like super paint or resilience) the same uv index or lower you should be fine. Early spring will be the time to do it. The temp will be low enough that the vinyl will be at it's relative smallest size and high enough to paint without the product dripping off the siding. I'm concerned that if I paint late in the season the vinyl will have been expanded and when winter rolls back around, contraction sets in and you see mad holidays.

I'm sure my compatriots will chime in with their opinions.
