Painting Kitchen Cabinets
What is good paint brush to use for painting kitchen cabinets? Using semi gloss Pro mar 200 paint from SW. What is your opinion on using foam roller for doors to cabinets. Doors are pretty flat not alot of art work/design involved.

Re: Painting Kitchen Cabinets
Foam sucks. I've seldom ever seen a good finish from foam products. They leave everything looking bubbled. I'd get a good low nap roller like a Pro Doo-Z 3/16 or 3/8 nap and roll them on. Immediately (while the paint is still wet) back brush with a soft tipped brush for a smoother finish. I'm trying out the Wooster Ultra/Pro Soft brushes made from 100% purple nylon. They seem to work well for this. Wooster has a new line called Silvertip CT that is chemically tipped polyester for an extremely light touch. I'm not as familiar with Purdy but I know they have some soft bristles too.

Re: Painting Kitchen Cabinets
isnt promar 200 a midle of the line product?? if it is, and im prety sure it is, i think its a shame to use it. no foam rollars imo, have you ever done cabinets before?? are these your cabinets? or a client that is trusting you to do the best job possible??

Re: Painting Kitchen Cabinets
SW Pro Classic would be a better choice if you have to buy from SW.

Re: Painting Kitchen Cabinets
Use an enamel
I believe Pro Classic is the SW product Foam rollers bite the big one If you must, use a regular mini-roller, then brush out the stipple

Re: Painting Kitchen Cabinets
We normally take all the cabinets down, build a spray room in the basement, garage or any other area that's convienent. Take them down, lable them, sand them, clean them with a deglosser, spray oil primer, spray sw pro classics oil satin or semi gloss finish, sand after first finish coat, then spray again. let dry for a coulpe days and hang them back up. For the cainet framing use a 3/8 non sheding mini roller.
