painting estimate new construction

ok here it is new construction 3960 sqft walls and ceiling one color 16 doors and 9 windows 4572 labor is this too high i am in pa i told the owner the price and he seemed shocked and now i feel like i messed up

they built 4 town homes 3 bedrooms each 3 floors and i guess they did not budget enough for the painting or something it really pisses me off that people are always looking for a handout when it comes to painting
70 cents a square foot f walls is good i think and from what i have researched and i am also going to go 50 cents a foot for the trim am i off on my price or are they just trying to lowball me

I CHARGE $1.85 PER SQ FT ON REPAINTS AND HAVE NO PROBLEM GETTING IT
