You're hoping to take the price available for each of the raw materials needed to make paint..and use that for leverage against your paint manufacturer/retailer?

Wow

Let us know how that works out for you.

(I think the owner of my Ben Moore store would suggest I go **** myself)

wassim -

Don't fotget the cost of the plant to make the paint and the lab to develop the paint and make sure it is as good as you expect.

If you get the general prices of the components, do you have enough knowledge to know the difference between good and bad ones?

Sounds like a pipe dream.

Going into a paint store and asking them to justify what they charge, is well...like asking me to justify what I charge.

(I COULD explain it...but if you really need to know that... then you probably need to find somebody else)

Don't forget to include in the price for the product liabilty insurance, incase your new paint gives someone a illness or even worse, kills them. It's not just throwing stuff together in a pot and whamo you have cake. Yesterday's paint is not today's paint. Also, you will need to check your local regulations for coatings manufacture as well.

I think Sherwin Williams sells those products and they even mix them up for you for free.

Gosh,
I've been wondering how "Wassim's-Quest" for paint-materials pricing is going... ??!?!?
I hope he doesn't find out everything!!!!
