Ooooo... Behr Premium Plus ULTRA!!

The boys wanted to paint their guinea pig pens and they wanted a color other than white (which I have plenty of left-over whites on hand). HD sells their mis-tints for $5/gallon, so I found a dark blue color the boys thought their piggies might like. It was some Behr stuff and didn't notice it until I got home... Behr Premium Plus ULTRA, something about being a one coat paint

Is this a new product that supposed to compete with the one-coat primer/paint combos from SW? I might just help paint that guinea pig pen, just to see if its the same 'ol Behr quality.

Re: Ooooo... Behr Premium Plus ULTRA!!

We had a customer a few weeks ago who insisted we paint thier house with Behr. We told them no way we only use Ben Moore. Then they told us we were only getting the job if we used Behr. We gave in and the local home depot was out of the regular base for thier crap paint. So we had to buy the ultra crap Behr for $30 per gallon. Upon spraying it the paint was running off the house it was not even put on thick. We brought it back to the store freaking out. The kid working there told us they have had a lot of complaints about it. He also told us they put some kind of plastic in it. You would think they would come up with some good product if they are such a big chain with lots of money for research and development

Re: Ooooo... Behr Premium Plus ULTRA!!

The only Behr I've been buying is the occassional gallon of mis-tinted paint for the occassional "homie" project or for the kids to mess with (such as paint their guinea pig and rabbit hutches with).

Why spend $26/gallon for Behr (which I need to doctor to get it to work) when I can have PM200 for a few bucks less and not have to worry?

The only good thing about Behr, the empty plastic gallon cans are pretty useful in the shop.

You guys are forgetting Wal Mart's "House Beautiful" paint. It's the best.
Martha Stewart's paint is a close second

Just kidding

I painted an entire house in the Duramax (Lowes versions of Behr Ultra). Too thick to spray and dried too quickly. Had to end up buying Colorwheel and repainting the whole house.

so true...think about it

"consumer" = consumers refers to individuals or households that purchase and use goods and services generated within the economy (wikipedia)

...this means people actually have to buy this paint to rate it...guess who's buying it? it ain't contractors it's HO's

Re: Ooooo... Behr Premium Plus ULTRA!!

did a small job today, ho got behr semigloss "frost" white.

No biggie since everything here is textured, but it's thick paint. Thick paint automatically tricks my hands into using it as if it was going to stay on the brush and roller. Nope, it's thick but slings all over like thin.
