Sign on a board as you enter our local grocery store here in N.E Ohio. Rooms Proffesionaly Painted..$100 average price per room.

Off Topic, Hey 4th. generation.,
I think that you are part right. The North didnt care about lower labor, we had tons of German, Irish, Eurapeans working for not enough to live on already. But your right about economy, not peoples rights. Slaves were only freed so south couldnt sell cotton to England for much needed supplys.

Re: ****omg!!!!!!!!****

I live in a state where painters are unregulated and see stuff like that all of the time. I even have a special section on my website about comparing apples to apples. Contractors like that never stick around long, which is good, but the damage they do to the profession as a whole can sometimes be profound.

Re: ****omg!!!!!!!!****

If it was back in the 1800's I would say run them out on a rail or have them posted out of town, but in these times we have to say either ok we can do it for that price or call me after the distaster trashers paint your home. Then the price goes up. I do not know if I told this before, but back in the early 80's my Grandpa worked for a builder who was also a great friend, but a new super came out fresh from architec school and tried to strong arm my G-pa into cutting prices by 5 cents or so a sf. My G-pa said go get them as fast as you can. Short story, they truly screwed up the quality and called my G-pa back. He then raised the original price up another 15 cents per sf. That old super got it handed to him early in his career. I did not know til I worked for that sup who is now a builder and he tried it with me also and got the same colorful metaphor. I see now that his office is closed and the last time I saw him in a sw he looked tapped out.
