Oil Tank
I have a homeowner who wants there exterior oil tank painted the same colour as there house. The tank now looks brand new with a glossy gray finish. Any suggestions on prep and paint to tackle this job?
Thank you!! |

Re: Oil Tank
Chances are the finish is either epoxy or epoxy/polyurethane. Either way you'll need to de-gloss by lightly sanding.Best way to top coat would be with a polyurethane. There are some easy to use urethanes some of which are alkyd, aliphatic(uses a hardener), and moisture cure. Check with your coating supplier for reccomended compatablility for fuel oil. BE SURE to de-grease the tank before sanding! good luck!
