Oil Not Allowed

I was doing a job for chocolate factory (smelt great) and as a policy they won’t allow strong smelling paints, it was all latex. So when it came to the ceiling witch was open, wood beams, pipes, duck work and the bottom of the floor above. it was In bad shape. Water stains, chocolate stains and whatever miscellaneous nastiest that had migrated over the last hundred years. So I started painting it with a wiz roller, white, it was already white, well ten minuets latter it looked like I hadn’t even started yet. All the stains bleed through. I talked with the PM of the factory and convinced him to use oil with that additive that keeps the smell down. They still freaked out but luckily the job was done by then. What else could I have used. Any thoughts……

Except for the duct work or any galvanized product. You could use the odorless versions of either BIN or Problock.

Also could have used low odor oil base primer. The odor is low enough that you could have gotten away with it.

That's silly, I can smell the chocolate three counties away but the paint smell in a freakin' warehouse for a day is verboten
What if I'm allergic to chocolate?

But yeah, it'd probably have to be low odor solvent based
Those latex products just don't cut it for the tough stuff
