New Wallboard

I have been reading this and the Drywall forum for ides on prepping my new playroom (basement) wallboard.

Is this the correct proceedure?

1. Guardz to seal board and mud
2. Devoe Primz one coat (tinted)
3. Sand
4. Finish coat ( times two) either Duration or Cashmere
should I add mildew inhibitor

Re: New Wallboard

Waiting to hear if the Guardz and then Primz is overkill? If you had to choose BM or SW wallboard primer, which one is better?

Re: New Wallboard

Yeah you can paint right over the Guardz
If it's new, even the Guardz is a little over-kill
A good BM or SW primer/sealer should do it
Pittsburg even has a cheap one that works great over new drywall
