Need Advice! Staining Concrete With Border

Have a concrete driveway with a walkway to front door. Need to do 4 inch SOLID border around driveway. Colors are (TBD) but only working with 2. Base color for drive / walk way & border color. (My concern is the border, can't have any bleed thru). How would you handle doing the border??? Tape? Stencil? Roll/Brush or HVLP.
We will use a de-greaser then use H&C Acid etching solution. Would you also use H&C Stain?? Worried about Hot tire pick up.... Can there products stand up. Thanks for any advise you guys can give!

If you are using an acid stain, you have to put a saw cut in the concrete at least a 1/2" deep. Acid stain will penetrate at least 1/4" . Tape won't do squat!

Calidesigns: No i'm not using Acid Stain. Looking at using H&C water based Stains. Would you use a high adhesive tape?

Re: Need Advice! Staining Concrete With Border

You said in your first post "H&C acid etching solution". Water based stain is a glorified word for paint in my opinion. If you have any water migration through your concrete, it will delaminate. Been there, done that, never do it again. I don't like disappointing my clients and I cherish my reputation.
