Need Advice To Estimate A Big Repaint

Hey guys,I have been out on my own now for about a year and have had great success doing new construction houses. My quality of work is great and I'm proficiant at what I do. I know exacly what I can do new work for to make decent money. I also know what I need to charge to do a small house or a room or two just based on how long I know it will take. I've just been offered a big house to repaint, a pretty new home, thats probably 3 to 4 thousand sq.ft. and I was wondering what I need to look for when I do the estimate. I'm not sure exactly how long it will take me either. Is there a good per sq. ft. price for repaints? I realize there's less general prep involved, but you can't blow and go and have to be so much more meticulous. If I'm getting 2.00 sq. ft. for new work, I'm not sure how to adjust that for a repaint. I'm just wondering in general how you go about getting a basic price. Any info will help, thanks

Re: Need Advice To Estimate A Big Repaint

I would say your best bet for this would be to consider:
How many on the job working for you?
How is their speed?
Easiest thing to do is decide how much money you want to make per MH, and make sure you know everything involved before you bid it. Most repaints i have done have been fairly simple. The one thing to remember is to add in the time involved for taping, drops, moving furniture, etc etc. All the things you normally wouldnt worry about in new homes.
Just look at the job piece by piece and figure out how long it would take you/your guys to paint it. Add in a couple hours for possible mistakes and add in your material costs and go from there.

Hope this helps
