my first time spraying :)

Hi Ya guys,

Well after all the help and tips from you guys, i went and hired a spray rig to see how i would get on with it

gosh these things are awesome!!!

The sprayer i hired was a apollo, never heard of it before BUT i think its a copy of the titan 440.

Things went really well and i picked it up quite quickly, all though when i got used to it, it seemed the sprayer was quite slow and i felt like i wanted it to spray faster! is it just because the type of sprayer??

Also do you guys wear goggels?? my face was covered in white paint from doing ceilings i looked like a snow man.

cant wait to buy one now

cheers

Mark

Mark, congrats on your first paint job!! Yes, you had better get some eye protection and especially a respirator - where do you think that paint went when you sprayed ------ RIGHT INTO YOU LUNGS!!. Work healthy and safely.

I don't know about the Apollo. I use a Graco #395st for spraying, love it and have had no repairs in six years of much use.

If you were spraying ceilings and wall, then I can see want to go faster, especially if you were using a smaller sprayer. If you were spraying trim, then I cannot see wishing to go faster.

Sprayer

I don't spray paint that much, but when I do, I look like one of those Hasmat guys. You only get one set of eyes, 2 lungs. Safety first.

Congrats and AMEN to the last posts

Get yourself a spray-sock - about $1.59
Goggles - $3.99
Tyvek Suit - $5.99
Respirator - $ 15 - 30 1/2 mask APR (3M is OK)

You will look like a spaceman but at the end of the day no one will know you are a painter.

One of the sayings in the industry used to be: "there are no old painters"
