Re: More Peicework Questions

boman-

I dont cover floors- I am in there right before the carpet cleaners, so any light overspray is sucked back up by the carpet machine. Damp towel on outlet covers. why all the interest? sound good? LOL now take in account other properties I CANNOT paint like that, and I WILL not paint like that, this particluar property is a special case. I know of a property going in at tuscaloosa if you are interested...

I bought a magnum XR5 last year to start painting this property..... this year I got a EIN number, getting Insurance, more gear and want to branch out to some of the MUCH better paying properties. which by ya'lls standards are still DIRT CHEAP but for me, and doing it more part time and just starting is fairly good money, to build starting capital, learning more about painting and such.

Also I did some sub work for a guy. An apt complex was doing a color change and painting the cielings the same color. 1000sq floor space. I was laying down the first coat of paint, basically set my sprayer wide open and go, overspray on trim didnt matter cause they came back to paint trim. I was in and out 1 1/2 hours max and he paid me 100 bucks a unit. now still....cheap to yall......but i have never made 900 bucks in a day.....well at least while NOT playing poker !

I will tell you, after doing exactly what that other guy is doing to you... your cut is about 20%, when you go out to find your own.......

100 is about 20% of the total cut, I did the same thing to people up in DE, get a 450 blow and pay some little guy 100 to do it for me.

Re: More Peicework Questions

Needham, I understand what you are saying. Same here as far as wanting to know more about painting and the business side of it. That includes the good prices this area will support. I also now what you mean about maybe working a little below pro prices to get and get experience in the business. I just couldn't see doing an apartment in 15 min's. I once worked with some roofers and I said I was so slow, if I fell off the house, I'd fall so slow it wouldn't hurt. As for me, I have done interior and exterior, but I want to start with interiors. Actually, I'm not that slow in painting interiors. I don't know the footage of the apts you are talking about, but it took me and another guy somewhere arond 3 to 4 hours to roll a 1 bdrm last summer. i think he charged $195. Everything the same color, same paint. Didn't mean to offend or pry into your business. If it works for you good. I was thinking you was letting the paint dry then coming back and wiping it off. Maybe I misunderstodd, been known too.
By the way, appreciate the offer bt no thanks. Don't think it would work for me.
