Mixing And Matching Paint??

I know I can't go wrong with SW mixing and matching every batch I bring to them but MAN!!
Lowes has been totally screwing up every order for us these days.... Seems the stores will send you too and each other will say the paint will match but I've found out differnt ( On top of this their computers are always malfunctioning) do they all have a different code for mixing paint?? Had to take back 30 GLNS Olympic Premium 25 Yr. today to get it re-mixed.. .

"PC malfuctioned".

I agree with Slinger on this buying from them is a bad idea, only do it when you have to. Olympic is a PPG product, is there not a PPG around you in Okie? I like the paintstore for matching paint.

Yup

So...if you had to bring back 30 gallons to get it re-mixed, its not really saving you any money buying that Olympic stuff then huh?

Re: Mixing And Matching Paint??

I've always used the SW guy's matching system. He's always gotten so close, I was never able to tell the difference between my sample and his match. He even got the sheen right on when that was unknown.

What paint do I buy at Lowes and HD?? Basically thier mis-tints for odd home projects. Can't go wrong at $5/gallon for a guinea pig pen or basement shelf. Okay, so sometimes I buy Gripper primer at HD. But that's in a pinch....

Re: Mixing And Matching Paint??

Whether it's a quality store or not...

DO NOT buy separate gallons of paint from multiple stores...IF you want the finish coat to be consistant

Try to box paint whenever you can, at least it will be uniform in color
