By the way it was my old 1880 victorian with a 5 color paint scheme and multiple different styles of fancy cuts and alot of 3" clapboard repair and replacement.

I agree that the time he took doesnt matter, everyone is different and it takes this guy two weeks. I have guys from Guatemala(I'm sure neo will correct my spelling) that paint a house in a day, guys from (who cares) they prep and paint forever but the job is perfect. It really depends and I think you're digging yourself a hole. As long as he got paid..it doesnt matter that he got fired...I've fired people for having bad breath, as long as he wasn't fired specifically because you slandered him, in which case, you should be sued for lost wages, slander, etc.
