Lead Paint

Howdy folks,

not quite sure what to do!
let me fill you in
an 1800s home is being restored by the owner, they are now getting a devorce and the wife is now trying to get the place finished. the amish workers were taking all of the trim and doors off and stripping the paint to be refinished. not all of the trim has been removed. she doesn't want to have the rest of the paint removed because it costs to much.I now have been asked to fininsh what is left over, I am sure the paint that is on the trim is Lead, can I paint over it ? or what would be the best solution to finish the trim and doors?

Thanks in advance
Marko

I came across a product like this in reseaching lead paint. But you still have to deal with the prep which was my concern.

Re: Lead Paint

Not only are there federal laws about lead abatememnt, but also local laws that differ from place to place. Have you check with your local authorities about what is required by law?

Re: Lead Paint

I would just prime it and paint it. done deal, as long as the surface isn't sanded where you make dust, you don't have to worry. paint and be on your way.
