Lead Paint

Your comments please on scraping old, exterior, lead paint?
Is a HO allowed to do it?
If I'm correct, you have to have a special license?
So far, it appears as the HO doesn't think it's a big deal..."We won't tell if you won't".
I've done a little research and it seems like a very big deal.
Add what you can...thanks.

Re: Lead Paint

If I had a HO say that to me, I'd walk from that job with a quickness. Then I'd probably report him to whoever has authority over that stuff if I was in that kind of mood. It is a big deal.

Re: Lead Paint

Of course the H/O doesn't think it's a big deal...he doesn't want to pay for a lead abatement team

If you want to do it, you'll have to check with your local authorities as to the specific issues

If you want to (can legally) do it, you'll need way more than a respirator and a scraper
It won't be cheap
It's not a hey here's $200 scrape my lead paint kinda thing

Re: Lead Paint

Here, you need the disposal team if it's over X# of pounds. The EPA is pretty strict about this and all movement has to be documented from front porch to the final disposal site. Lots of paperwork.
