latex getting thick

If you feel a gallon of latex is thickening due to being left open a long time can you add water to it ?

There is stuff other than water
that evaporates, and some of that
stuff is what helps it stick to the wall.

I would put latex extender or floetrol first, or get new paint.

put in some propylene glycol. That's what most companies use to 'extend' the pot life of their paints.
