Laser Tapes

question about laser tapes: do you use them, are they accurate and what are some good ones? Are they good for interior and exterior?

Re: Laser Tapes

I have one. They are OK...

They are really only good for interiors, they work outside but it's a pain in the a$$. The only reason I got the was to measure the height of a house and it really doesn't work well for that. I would rather just eyeball it then stand there pressing the button over and over looking like a doofus...

The other reason I got one was because I hated it when HO's had offered to help me measure.

I think for the money the 100' flexible measuring tape with the teeth on the end is much better for interior and exterior.

Re: Laser Tapes

craftsman laser tape for interiors
meter-man measuring wheel for exteriors

I highly recommend both of these methods of measuring...fast and accurate. Tape measures are much slower and tough to use by yourself sometimes. Laser tapes are pretty much useless for exteriors, you need a starting and ending surface to shoot the laser beam.

happy shopping

Re: Laser Tapes

I have a laser tape. Can't think of the brand/model right now. It seems to be fairly accurate inside building or when you have something for the laser to hit. Haven't used in for any job application yet. Thing has been laying around here a few years now still in it container. I do plan to become familiar with it. Then again, it something else to keep track of. I do like the idea of using it for some ceilings if accurate enough.
