knock down walls

does this finish drywall texture require priming? Is eggshell a proper finish for this texture?

Definitely prime over fresh knockdown.

Not sure, who wrote the specs for the job? homeowner, desgner, etc?
One thing for sure, if eggshell I would prime and apply 2 coats finish paint ot keep the sheen level and avoid flashing.

Any paint...Latex or Enamel is ok to apply.
