Just Ceilings

did a quote the other day and got the job to paint JUST CEILINGS. to me this is a huge pain. i do ceilings first then walls obviously. it is going to be hell trying to cut the ceiling in without getting anything on the walls and then all the splatter from the roller is sure to get on the walls too. any suggestions or thoughts. no one ever requests to just have ceilings done. i already asked if they had extra wall paint to make sure the wall/ ceiling cut line is nice and straight

Re: Just Ceilings

Whats the odds that they are just wanting the ceilings painted in hopes that you do get paint on the walls so you will have to paint the walls for free?

Re: Just Ceilings

You can blue tape the cheap painters plastic to the walls. Just charge the hell out of them!

Re: Just Ceilings

I just did one
Most of the walls were wallpaper
The big room had exposed beams, stained of course
I kinda liked it. I considered it a challenge
I did the whole house w/o taping anything
I didn't splatter anything...well, maybe a blob or two I got with my damp rag
I figured in some PITA money into the bid, so I was cool with it
It was pretty weird though, just ceilings
Oh yeah, my neck was toast for a while
