Interior garage Concrete block

Hello to all,

I wanted to have all your opinions on painting the Interior of a garage that is cinder blocks. Also Int. doors which are fiberglass.

This is for my friend so I want to do it right the first time, but he wants to do it the cheap way(which is fine)

I will be spraying most likely, with possible backrolling(never sprayed block b4) MY choice paints are BM and Coronado, but going the cheap route he wants to use L*wes brand Fasthide(I personally have used this and it works nice just need more coats then normal)

Now the garage is painted on the outside but still gets moisture on the Int. which will require latex to be used. I have done concrete porches b4 , just thinned down 1st coat and full strength 2nd coat, worked fine with Tough Shield Floor & Patio,

But the cheap way, a five of L*wes Exterior semigloss would be fine or no?

The color will be white or off white

Do I need to use a primer or should I just sprayaway?
I said we could just paint it cheap but maybe in 5 years it might peel away or chip
And for the fiberglass doors is there a special primer I need to use?

Thanx
Robert

I would solve the "Moisture" issue FIRST! If there is a moisture issue... your paint will "peel away" a lot sooner than 5-years...

I would use Benmoore's "Block Filler"...M88

They also have a water proof masonry coating... M89

You dont need primer on the fiberglass door... just a quality "latex" paint....

Robert

No one has been able to show me a better product than SW's "loxon". Get that and you wont be sorry...

All your talk about cost goes in one ear and out the other...
--do it right, or the job will end up costing much more very soon thereafter.

By the way, if you keep considering using Lowes or Home Depot paints, you might have to change your name from "goodpainter" to something much less desirable

I'm not painting anything five times to get a good finish
IMO that's not cheap, I've got other things I'd like to be doing
IMO my time is worth something

...well, now wait up
Yeah I do put 5 coats total on some stuff
But that's some high end painting projects and I'm getting paid to put 5 coats on it

I'll re-phrase:
I'm not putting 5 coats of cheap paint on concrete when 2 coats of decent stuff will do

May sure you have a large enough pump to spray the block filler, like 1095 or larger, or you could burn you pump up. I agree with the one above, loxon block surfacer is the way to go.
