ICI Paints

I hear a lot about SW or BM paints but does any one have experience with ICI? I'm interested in their line of No VOC "Life Master" but I want to make sure it's up to par.

Also I'm working on a old house with lots of built-ins, and tons of doors/trim. The owners are looking for a smooth but not sprayed look to maintain the old world feel. I'm thinking about trying out SW Cashmere in a dove white any suggestions.

Not a painter by trade but the few times I used ICI I was not happy. Old Glidden years ago was OK. SW or BM about all I use now.
I know the Pro's will give you better feedback so stay tuned.

Talk to your ICI rep, we use the Dulux line and also the Devoe products as well. Both great paints.

Lifemaster is good as well.

I agree Devoe makes a lot of good stuff. I have use Dulux a few times many years ago was ok but not great enough to make me switch.

Well I can get the LifeMaster or Dulux for $18.95 from ICI. SW Superpaint or ProMar 200 are $30ish. I think I'm set on using SW Cashmere on the trim and Lifemaster for the walls. I looked at ACE Royal as well for $21.00 might work for the trim but I've been dying to try the Cashmere. Any tips, would thinning w/ flotrol be a bad idea with the self leveling qualities built in?

Not sure if you have Duron in your area, but they make a good set of products. Also, SW Cashmere is pretty good, but here on the west coast Kelly-Moore has DuraPoxy. Nothing better for doors, trim, cabinets.

The ICI Dulux Alkyd eggshell is pretty good. Dries fast and has a very low sheen (comparatively). Your ICI rep may be able to get a product from Insulux called Cabinet Coat. That is awesome stuff. It's an acrylic that dries hard enough to sand. Just make sure you wait for your caulking to dry completely before you paint over it with that. The finish will crack. It dries that hard.
