I Seam To Have Forgotton What This Forum Is All About?

Sometimes I think it's here to ask questions, and get answers...other times I get the fealing where here to argue about how other people do things or what their opinions are.... Are we just loosing sight of our main objective
or is it just a stressfull time of the season for our trade?

Well...it ain't like we are running a political topic that will lead to real dissention......I enjoy the exchange of ideas....if we failed to express our opinions in an open forum, how would you ever know how many valid ideas would never be heard....that we can all learn from?

Read the TOS, we try to adhere to it. There are some lines that can never be crossed and there are others where some flexibility is allowed.

Bear in mind that we are people too. I seem to be more liberal than some of the other mods but that is a human response as well. I also enjoy a good piefight and it can really boost the ratings as long as it doesn't get too far out of hand.

A hardline Q&A site is boring. I like to think of this place the same as a construction site. There are going to be disagreements and maybe even a little rolling around in the mud, when it's over we all go have a beer.

Keep in mind too, that when people type, they seem to use stronger language than they'd normally use in spoken speech. They do this to get their point across, to compensate for not being able to gesture and use facial expressions the way they would if they were speaking. Because of this, we often mistakenly think a person is angry or upset, when they really are not. They're just trying to get their point of view across the best way they can in written words only. We're not journalists, just tradespeople.

Kelly has a point. But sometimes its hard to just talk about the simple things that really matter... like;

Kelly, when are you going to post pics of that job from hell? We wanna see!

I see. So that changes everything. Were you using latex or enamel?

Tom, you're married. You know that it doesn't come in latex. It has an acetone base. Can you imagine painting a house in that stuff?

You'd be seeing pink elephants before you even finished cutting in around the trim.

She, and most women have probably developed a dependency to acetone over the years.

Nope, as a wise woman once told me, it's just the human condition. No way around it.
