I Hate Lacquer
I have had a policy of "I do not spray lacquer", that I broke this month. I have been wanting to do some higher end kitchen work using spray stains, glaze, and figured lacquer would be necessary for final product appearance it efficiency of use.
Now, I want to go back to my former policy. I am sick of sweating out lacquer smell (and yes, I wear a respirator with fresh canisters). Anyone having good luck spraying waterborne clears? I have only sprayed Graham's ceramithane once, and it was okay, but it is a little thin for spray work, IMHO, but it feels almost like lacquer. Any tips or product suggestions for the WB clears on higher end woodwork? |

Re: I Hate Lacquer
dean, shot some ceramithane and the key was...to use a 411 and crank up the heat to around 75 or so,shoot one coat, let the moisture clear out, then repeat, looked awesome !

Re: I Hate Lacquer
Did you use just two coats? I did oak once and was run free until I got cocky and put the final coat a little heavier on the doors and had some runs then. I think I did 3 coats on that job (okay, a 4th to fix the doors)
What kind of wood? |

Re: I Hate Lacquer
two thick coats on a pine ceiling... imho as long as you crank the heat, and allow the mooisture time to escape you should be fine. agreed?
