Never could get anyone to modify it, so there it sits, ugly and loud.

I think I asked you this about 6 months ago, Why do you want to modify it?

I'm not trying to be an ass but tear it down, start over. All of the research on internet marketing says that people shopping for services are turned off by flash sites, more and more people are just turned off by flash period. People are sick of flash. More research says that if a website takes longer than 15 to 30 seconds to load people back out of it, they do not wait. You have to configure your site for people with dial up.

Let footbridge give you a website from scratch, you won't be sorry. It took one full year but now the leads are coming in faster than I can respond.

At $800 (I think) it will be the best money you spend all year.

That's what i'm shooting at Joe, footbridge however, told me either they host it or they don't do it. I have a guy here local (BUY LOCAL!!) that will do it and just give me a disk. Really been to busy swimming upstream until now to think about it.

I am also looking for someone to do my site and then I will manage it. I have the domain name bought etc. I could monkey with making a site, as I have some computer experience but don't have the time. I too would love to find someone local to do it for me.

I agree you need to design a site for people who may not be that great with computers or who do not have high speed. I am running at 6 megs I am sure there are a few that still dialing in at 56k and DSL here is only 1.5 megs.

You know I'm all about that anybody local who could have done what footbridge did was charging more than $2000. That's just for the initial build it was another $400+ for the monthly maintenance.


Make sure he knows something about SEO. If he doesn't, let me design your site for a six pack, that's what it will be worth. Also a good Internet marketing campaign takes monthly tweaking in order for it to keep moving up in ranking.

Even once you get your meta tags and SEO all in place you will be very hard pressed to get hits. The web search game is moving very quickly towards more and more specific searches. The major search engines want it this way so that they can drive more and more revenue from advertising. So unless you have someone searching for "Painters in Ogden, UT" and your tags are set for "Ogden, UT" your odds of making the first page are low.

There is only one way around that problem today and that is via links. Links and lots of them to sites with lots of content that is similar to yours, specific to your topic, and original. The engines read all of those pages so being a painter linked to a web site on gardening does you little good.

If you are not linked to high ranked sites with language that relates to your site you will never see a ton of traffic from generic searches.
