I got 3. Disqualified 2, and lost the 3rd to a lower price.
But it is all good, I was already booked up to the end of April.

I got 22, that's pretty good for me too.
George, are you the only painter in Toronto?
Just kidding, I know exactly why you get those leads.

It would be nice to see a ratio of leads to the size of company. I am only a two man operation with the limited advertizing I do I do not expect to get 100 leads etc..

117 leads, God bless america.
George, didn't you say you were built for $300k in business. You could do that in 2 months looks like to me
What in the world do you do with 117 leads? How many of those do you actually go do an estimate for?
Do you have a crew of 10 estimators?

Leads
I have been doing 7-12 estimates a week for about four weeks now. Booking about half. Summer is looking real good right now.

Too many for sure.
1.5 estimators
We are hiring painters.
Qualifying many of them for now (like exterior, price shoppers etc.)
I turned down the bidding very low on Adwords, that should help.
We can only get to what we can get to.
As I said, we are hiring but it takes time.

Hey George, question... i've finally decided to scrap my flash template as it's been sitting out there for a year, not done and ugly... noone will touch it and I need to improve my online presence. Perhaps you can do a post with a basic who when how kinda thing? I'm sure whoever I hire can point it in the right direction but.... 100+ in March, would love to hear more about specifics in your market to customize to mine. You mentioned adwords.. is that all you use?

That many leads is crazy, there is no way I can hire and train enough for that.
Do the math, even at 25% closing and average job $2,500...
Lead sources:
Pay Per Click Yahoo, Google and that new MSN
Internet Directories
Local newspaper ad
Door hangers, job proximity
Some leads from colour consultants
Couple of General Contractors
Referals
By far most come from Organic searches on Google.
It is not free though, we pay someone about $600 per month.
The best I can tell people is:
Go to Google. ca and search for the usual terms:
Painters Toronto, Painting Toronto, House painters Toronto, House painting Toronto, Painting company Toronto, Painting Contractors Toronto etc.
Spend sometime investigating who comes up and why. Really investigate.
our site is www.ecopainting.ca
Then do as they do (within reason)
It takes years for Google though.
The quickest you can get there is Footbridgemedia.
They didn't do our main site, but AA will talk your ear off, about them.
Sean Kennedy and Humble are very happy with them too.

Ya, basically what I have now... footbridge wouldn't touch my flash either btw. Only thing I don't have is the pay for click, how many you running? Just the three mentioned? Although I don't have a strong inet presence atm, I also have two lead services going so I suppose it evens out.. but 100+... heh. wow. Thanks for the info though.. i'll check into the clickies....
