Hey how many of you Painters can beat this

I found this on craigslist, I had to laugh if he paints by the room you could have your whole house done for under $500 bucks

Yeah after I posted it here the ad was removed from craigslist that's why it's not showing up here, the guy said he would paint any bedroom for $50.00 and for larger rooms for $75.00 the home owner had to buy the paint. but he said he would spackle, caulk, sand and paint all for $50.00 a room

it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests

License info: licensed, bonded, and insured

This ad has pictures on craigslist the thing I got a kick out of is theres a pictures of some guy painting a front porch ceiling and the porch doesn't have a drop covering the cement, But hey they are Professionals, the other thing they don't show their License number,
I went to the State of Michigan website and checked their License Number and guess what they don't have a License, so now Painters are listing License Numbers they make up.

It's sad to see painting companies that caught the $ wave that was building speed in 1992, only to have it all come crashing down 17 years later.

I use a number in the license number area of craigslist also. Here in KY. and IN. we don't need a license and can't even get one.

There are no laid off auto workers here, but painting companys are working for peanuts..............

Alot of my calls for exterior work have also called Rhino Shield and CP, we cannot compete with CP and Rhino Shield offers a lifetime warranty.....

Its a very tough economy in our work area guys are looking to just pay bills and stay afloat..........anything else is a bonus.....

The stong will survive but you have to be creative and cut your costs and work your a*** off or you will not survive............

I am speaking about my work area, if your economy is good, then consider yourself lucky..........

I'm seeing the samething here off of CL. $50.00 a room and $500.00 for an exterior. I don't worry about these unlicensed hacks. The homeowners get what they pay for!

Think, I wouldn't worry about that life warranty I would bet that after two years they lose the customers file, I would match their warranty, and just use what the paint manufacture gives, as for workmanship I would only cover labor for two years, cause with the Quaility of paints they only last 5 to 7 years and then your looking at repainting, so if a life time is only 7 years just play the numbers cause that's all their doing. Good luck

Think,
I took a look at their site, as for the pictures they posted it looks like they used Benjamin Moore's PC program where you can take a picture of a house and then download the picture to your PC and then change the colors, the picturs on their site have no close ups, looks like regular paint to me. the other thing is what about if the HO wants to change colors every few years I wonder how it would be to repaint over this stuff.
