I used to paint only apartment turnovers. If you have next to zero overhead (advertising, vehicles, etc.) and HAVE insurance, you can make OK money doing turnover painting.
They supplied the paint, we supplied everything else. Price rules in this game, and once I was asked to match $135/1BR and $145/2BR, I stopped trying to compete. The contractor who has these now has his most inexperienced crew doing them. Some managers of the buildings love them, some hate them, but the Management Company loves the bottom line. End of story. BTW - Two guys (with at least 1 year experience painting apt's.) Can paint a 1 BR in about 3 hours, and a 2 BR in 4-5 hours. This is for walls only, ceilings, trim, etc, costs more.
