Glazing Time

Just looking for a rough idea of the time it would take to glaze these storm windows. The outsides are 1 over 1, the middle is 2 over 2. Disregard the windows themselves, just look at the storms. Also, never mind that I need to do some wood repair to the frames first.

I think the glaze will need to be removed from the bottom halves of the windows as well, (from the looks of it, it will come off easy).

I have a bunch of these to do, but here's one for an example. I'm thinking removing old glazing, (1/2 hour), cleaning, and replacing a few loose glazier nails (1/2 hour), and re-putty (1/2 + 1/2 (outsides) +1 (middle) for a total of 3 hours for this set. Maybe a little long, but when I multiply by $50/hour, then $150 sounds reasonable. Thoughts?

My thoughts....
6 guys for 20 minutes, you'll be in and out.

Re: Glazing Time

Hmm...it's kind of close quarters for six people, a lot of bumping and.....maybe me and five girls...ya that could work...20 mintues doesn't seam like enough time though.

Actually, there's 10 of these around the house, I was using that one as an example.

Re: Glazing Time

If you are good at glazing, 150 per sounds pretty fair... down here in the cheap state you would be pushing though.

Re: Glazing Time

I would say one person -- 1 hour to prep the glaze and 1.5 hour to glaze. it could vary window to window but use an average x # of windows 2.5hr x 10windows =25hrs x $50 = $1250 plus materials
you could even add some an hour or two to that figure
then Your $1500 sounds bout right
