Full Gloss On Textured Ceiling?

I have a customer who owns a hardware store and wants to brighten up the retail area. The 13,000 sq ft. ceiling is 12 ft in heigth and is finished with a popcorn texture on drywall. The current finish on them in an older white (about 15 + years old) with a flat sheen. He looked into changing all the tube lighting fixtures, but was turned off by the total cost of the job.
I would like everyones opinion regarding how this would look, since I have never painted a gloss on a textured ceiling before.

I've never painted one either, but that said, I have seen quite a few and they don't look too bad. The thing I would be worried about is flashing everywhere...It's not something I would recommend to anyone though, but you know what they say...."if the customer wants it......"

I never did one either
I have redone a few, back to flat or removed the texture
Gloss and popcorn... I've never seen one that looked good
The ones I "fixed" looked pretty horrible actually
....before I got to them, not after
