Finding a good painter
I am looking to hire new employee's and posted an ad on craigslist.
I was surprised of the response that I had got.
Is there any other free sites that I might advertise on for painters?

Craigslist probably doesn't have the quality of worker that is desirable to hire. Just a hunch........dunno where else to look.

When you see a good painter at a job site, ask him what he is making and offer him more money to work for you. Steal good workers away from other painting companies.

Hah, good idea actually. If they are good, you don't want them working for the competition. Big corp's make people sign non compete agreements to prevent that stuff and keep their edge, but I doubt you'll see one of those in the paint business.

It's the best way to do it. 99% of good workers aren't looking for a job, they already have one. Thus, stealing workers is the best way.
Go get em!

I'd spread the word with your supplier... They usually know who's busy, and who's not... Tell them what you're looking for, and let them do half the prescreening.

Stealing workers is a great way, just make sure they are happy with you or they will leave you in a bind for .50 a hr more
I have found good workers usually know other good workers, once you find one, ask them if they have any freinds, and if you hire one of their freinds and it works out, pay the guy a referal fee

My friend works for a shutter company, they have signs on the work van that says:
"Help Wanted: Earn up to $3,000 referral fee for sending us help!"
If the worker stays for a year, the person who referred them gets the bounty fee. Seems to work pretty well. And if the boss doesn't think the worker is worth $3,000 at the end of the 12months, he just fires him and saves the $3,000

We optimized the Employment page to be found by Painters.
When someone searches for "Toronto Painting Jobs"
They get the result:
Working for Ecopainting Inc. maybe the best Painting job a Painter can have
Search result #4:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...bs&btnG=Search
There is a downloadable application in that page, we get them daily.
Never have to advertize for painters again.
Just another little way the website is paying off.

trumps--
Anytime I desired a new painting job (like every year or so ) I always found positions in my area simply from the local paper. Any job painting (other than 1) I got from the paper and I've worked for over 6 local companies in my area....Is careerbuilder free to list on? I used to look there a lot too...
