All oil stains will work. Some door manufacturers use thin Stains and some more like gell Stains.

Gel stains are most definitely the best on fiberglass doors. I prefer Zar - much easier to work with...

I would not use regular penetrating stains- too runny.

i like the therma tru door stains,,,,the kit is availiable at the same places you can purchase the doors (hardware stores, lumber yards, big box stores)

i like to clear them with zar or stays clear

i dont like the gel stains

there was a thread on this a while back, and a fella posted a pic of a door he did w/ gel stain,,,,,,,,,and it looked fantastic

different strokes,,,,both literally and figuratively

ive never used an oil type penetrating stain, on fiberglass doors,,,but id be interested in how others use it,,,,,,,

Old Masters makes some good stains, but don't use the penetrating or the wiping stain for fiberglass doors, try their gel stain instead. I'm the "fella" that johnthepainter referenced in an earlier post. To see the post he was talking about try this thread http://www.contractortalk.com/f26/staining-fiberglass-door-27331/

Also, if you belong to Painttalk, I posted a little more in depth about the process. http://www.painttalk.com/showthread.php?t=431
