Fence, Solid Stain OR Prime&Paint
I have a spruce fence that is about 8 years old and it has never been coated. The wood is in very good shape with just a little green stuff.
Which product will look the best and hold up the longest, a solid stain or paint? Will a solid stain get dirty or does it have a protective surface? How often will I have to recoat each product?

oil solid stain would preserve the wood longer than a semi trans. Whatever you do I would not use a solid latex im not a fan of that product as it likes to peel.

Re: Fence, Solid Stain OR Prime&Paint
Yea i agree with the solid latex being a little sketchy. To sum it up i work on 5-10 year old condos that have the stuff peeling all over the place, and my house has an oil semi-trans on part of it that has been there for about 20 years and still looks good.
