Fabric Softener
I have read that the use of fabric softener plus (warm) water can be used for a more thorough removal of paint components for better preservation of brushes.
Do you know if I must use warm water or can it be room temp? I use this with oil or latex brushes after cleaning of each with their own clean up solutions. Have not tried using less than warm water yet.

Re: Fabric Softener
It works okay. Foampro actually makes packets of what are essentially liquid fabric softener that you can use to clean a brush up very good and very quickly. There is a catch though. It has to be fresh paint. If it's dried in the brush even the slightest bit, it doesn't work nearly as well. You can also treat a new brush with pure fabric softener and rinse it out to prevent paint from clogging it as badly to begin with. Makes future cleanup a bit easier. Personally I like Wooster Nylon Plus brushes. Solid Nylon fiber and you can use them in brush cleaners (Wilson Imperial Rapid Brush Cleaner) without worrying about the bristles melting like Polyester can.

Re: Fabric Softener
Does anyone know that using fabric softener actually makes towels less absorbant?
