exterior wood eves in terrible shape

Hello,
I'm working on a 1920's wood siding home that is in terrible shape. Im concerned about preparing the eves for paint. They are the decorative inch and a half grooved pine slats. Similar to tongue and groove but with more detail between the 1 1/2 inch flat sections. The proplem is they were never prepared properly in the past and it must have 50 coats of paint on the surface. The surface peeled/blistered at one point and they kept painting over it. Alot of areas were patched and caulked over and the once detailed look has been lost. I'm considering wet-blasting the paint down to the bare wood to obtain this look again. Its pine wood and I scraped down to the bare surface in a couple sections and its in great condition. I've never had anything wet-sand blasted off but it was recommended to me by another contractor. Are any of you other pro's familiar with this method of paint removal? Any other suggestions? I hope my description helps paint a picture.
thanks,
Bchester

hmm...

The only wet sand blasting I know of is used to remove paint on metal. Seems risky to blast on someones house especially at something so ornate. I would just think--stripper

ps- you must remember...your job is a lead job, I'm sure there are a good 10 layers underneath--remember to follow all your lead laws--If your not prepared to deal with lead, back out now

BC Have you ever used Peel Away? this stuff will remove all the paint, just follow the directions, this way you don't have to worry about blasting out the wood and losing any details. Hope this job is T & M so you can take your time and get it done right. Good Luck.
