Exterior Paint Failure Waiver?

Anyone have an Exterior Paint Failure Waiver (other than the basic "beyond our control" in the contract) for when there's obviously some previous (DIY or Hack) issues (no primer) and the customer doesn't want to spring for a strip?

Scary is OK, lol, if it scares them into getting it done right or is a really solid CYA

Thanks in advance

Slick,

If I understand your question correctly, this may help:

.......specifically, this warranty covers adhesion of all products applied under this contract to the existing substrate (or previous coating).

Although every effort will be made to remove all loose paint, using the prescribed methods of preparation, neither I nor the manufacturer will be held responsible for the failure of any pre-existing coating to adhere to the substrate beneath as I did not prepare for or apply that product.

Is this what you're looking for?

Try this Slick... (1) Peeling resulting from the breakdown of any underlying, older paint film; (2) peeling on any horizontal surfaces exposed to standing water such as concrete or wood porches and decks and handrails;(3) any structural cracking of the painted surfaces. This warranty covers workmanship only and excludes all material used. Refer to the manufactor for details about any warranties that may apply to the materials used on your job. Hope that helps!
