Epoxy Floor

Ok this could be a long story but im gonna try and make it short. My boss who owns a dance studio (im the maintaince guy) was gonna put a wood floor in their new store. Changed her mind now she wants to put a clear coating over the old concrte (it has old tile mastic, and pretty much looks like crap) clear is a bad idea. Anyway what are some other epoxy type options. (to be put on professionally not by me) Brands would be good, and what would 1500 sqft run roughly. Laminate wood flooring would end up being about $7000.

Ya its pretty popular in larger cities to clearcoat the floor... first thing id do is run out and get the Ph tested. If it's above 5, forget the clearcoat. You can get a test kit yourself from a good paint store and sometimes, a rep will come test it for free.

Re: Epoxy Floor

You can actually make a pretty decent floor with concrete although I'd go wood for dancing. She should too.

Sight unseen, going over it will be cheaper than attempting to adhere to it.

Re: Epoxy Floor

Yea concrete is a bad idea, this isnt for a dance floor though. Its for their retail store area but i just cant imagine the epoxy floor being more than a third cheaper.
