enamel paint

i am looking at using some enamel paint that was given to me. i was given about a case of high gloss white rustoleum oil based enamel. i was wondering how it would do for cabinets. i have a set of cabinets i am finishing and was wondering if could use it on them. i normally have a painter apply oil b/m or s/w when they are to be painted. these cabs are being built for a habitat for humanity home.

i would be spraying the paint with either a conventional gun or a hvlp.

any thoughts??

Technically, you can do it. Traditionally, it's not a preferred paint to work with on cabinets.

I wouldn't do it.

Well really, no. that's not a good idea
Technically it would cover them....for a while
I know it's for charity and all....but I don't think it's a good idea

That paint is meant for metal surfaces - save it for when you have to shoot a few bulkheads or something - or repaint your car!

i've used enamel paints on plastics and metals, but i think it looks real tacky on wood.

Guy, hate to be snide, but why don't you hire a painter to do your painting for you? Saving a little moeny? Remember, it costs twice as much to fix it as it does to do it right the first time.
