That reminds me of the boss that used to tell all of us/his painters; "Shut-up, I don't want to hear ANY of your ideas. I hired you from the neck down, now get back to work!"
Those were the good ol days, weren't they? That is another reason that I fear for the future of paint and other trades. I KNOW that a lot of people received MOST of their education from bosses just like the one in these two examples above. I've got a friend that worked together with me for one of these bosses, back in the day. And to this very day, he will NOT change, try, or even acknowledge in any way that there might be other ways of doing things than the way that Jake taught some of us almost 30 years ago! I mean if Jake didn't do it back then, this guy won't do it today. I would bet that there are very famiiar stories, ALL OVER this land! People are funny! Pawl |
