Drywaller rant

I do a lot of new construction/production. This job the drywallers are killing me! They don't mask everything, spray texture all over doors and windows, leave trash everywhere, including big piles of mud in the house .They do a crappy job and say they are done, I tell the super it isnt ready, he says spray it! Even in blow and go I still do quality work! So I paint it and it looks like crap, the super makes the drywaller go back, one 1300 sq ft house had 250 patches after I painted it So I touch it up, go back a few days later 200 more patches Of course I backcharge. It just drives me crazy! What happened to pride in your work? How are the drywallers in your areas? OK, rant done, thanks!

When I did new construction it was the same way. Between crappy drywallers, electricians & carpenters not knowing how to measure, and the other 40 people in & out being careless, we'd do complete touch ups 2-3 times per house.

um, yeah, that's why I dont do new construction--I get pissed off enough doing repaints, plus these days....I dont take much crap from 19 year old kids ignorantly throwing tools around, getting paid $10/hr, and blasting rap music---someones getting hurt

I wouldn't say he's so done...I saw in a preview for the new Rocky movie coming out that he wanted to really trade blows to make sure it looked as real as possible.
