Drywall tape

Good morning. I am new to this forum and I have a question. I bid a painting job that the drywall tape is coming loose where the wall meets the ceiling. Some of it looks like it could be glued and remudded, but alot of it is bubbling up. Is it best to try and cut it out and retape it or is there a better way? Thanks

Tape may be coming loose for a reason. Could it be truss uplift? Is it worse in the winter? Try to determine what is causing the problem.

That was my first thought too, Stan....

Don, there may be more going on there that you can't see.. You'll be back next winter repairing it again if it is truss uplift!!!

My drywall buddies told me years ago use fiberglass tape, mud, then paper tape over the top, and finish. Hope that helped ?

So when it moves the fiberglass will give, and the paper will should not show crack, depends on how bad the wall moves.

mesh tape will be your best bet. wont bubble. a little harder to cover with mud but better in the long run for durability

With me providing guarantees on my work, I would cut and re-do. But have a look first, for the obvious causes.

Thanks for the responses. I was concerned that it was truss movement. This could definatly be a learning experience.
