Dent in Drywall

Hey guys,

New here, but have an urgent question. I was really stupid, and put a small dent into my drywall. The walls were just painted about a year ago The dent isn't through the drywall in anyway. It simply compressed the wall about 1/8-1/4 inches deep and 1inch in diameter (and the surface got all cracked up).

I was wondering how one would fix this. Would the wall have to be repainted totally? or could I do maybe a spot touchup (how much would this stand out).

Damn teenage hormones!
Thanks!

Yes you need to remove the entire wall down to the studs. Then redrywall it.

Do NOT listen to Brock!!! He is a Prankster.

You need to remove the entire wall and readjust the footings. Then you may continue as Brock has said!

A little spackle, if the wall is painted with flat, you can usually get away with spot touchup, most other finishes will require full wall repaint- or you could demo the entire unit, and rebuild.....

Might need to get the district attorney involved here, this sounds like a hate crime.

I dunno, wouldn't this necessitate a roof re-flashing? Ahhhh never mind, just caulk it.

I don't think it will cost much, but there are some very helpful guys on here. I suggest you post a new topic titled "How much does it cost to fix drywall." You should get a bunch of replies.

LMAO you guy are hilarious.

Plumber
Mud over the spot a couple of times. Prime it, then touch up while dabbing the brush against spot.
If your room was painted awhile ago you might need to repaint the whole wall, or if you are not talking about flat.

Isn't this where the mod comes in and refers the OP to diytalk.com and closes the thread?
