Deck Staining Over Penifin

I have two small cedar decks and 8'x8' fence to stain, they have penifin on them, h.o. says it was put on 5 years ago, deck finish is wore but fence finish in good shape,I plan on putting on deck scapes oil after a good cleaning and powerwash, I have never went over penifin, anything special I should do or know, the cleaner I use is cabot problem solver/brightner,any input wood be helpful

Honestly, if you're changing the type of finish that is on the deck, you should strip the old one completely. The manufacturer won't back any warranties if their product is put over another one I'm sure.

Why wouldn't you just put another coat of Penofin on it? Wash it with simple green and coat it and you're all done. Use Red Label for best results. Every coat of Penofin lasts longer and longer than the last one. Rose wood oil is God's gift to the deck lover.

My thoughts exactly, Penofin is the best stuff I have ever used.
