Deals On Supply's....
I think it would be a great idea for 4 all of us to give a heads up on great deals we found so that anybody else in our locations can also take advantage.... like for the last 3 months at a store called "Ocean State Job Lot" located in Mass and Conn that I know of... they have had purdy rollers 3/8 and 1/2 nap for $2 each... I've bought them all out near me but they got to have som e near you... they also got the red screens you stick in paint cans for Zip rollers for 50 cents they cast a buck something at ben moore ...... I'm also a big fan of yard sales ... I work weakends and stop at anything that looks promissing...... recently I got a I.B.M Thinkpad laptop for $20 lots of tools for 50 cents and every ladder I own used. I even drove a half hour to get a 28 ft extension ladder w/ stabilizer ( brand new ) for $66 on ebay..... Tell us what you found for deals on the web.. or at any stores near you.. you would be suprized how much it helps the little guys.... P.S Grossmans Bargain Outlet has Pheneseal caulking .. buy one get one free at like $4 so a case is like $50... it's the best stuff on earth... and normally goes for $100 a case... use it on all victorians / 2nd empires / anything that needs some serious work ... it has a lifetime warranty.

Re: Deals On Supply's....
Hi,
I have been painting for some time now, but am not real familiar with the different brand names of supplies, etc. I have been buying roller covers from HD and they are about 3.50 per cover. They are semi rough and good for latex based paint. I saw the site for these Purdy roller covers and when I go to the ebay site, its says for use with Oil or water based paints. Can this also be used for latex based paints as well? |

Re: Deals On Supply's....
Kenrie, latex is a water-based paint.
We use Wooster 50/50 3/4" almost exclusively. Haven't found a comparable cover since starting to use these a couple years back. I buy them by the case. I use 1/2" throw-aways for oil. |

Re: Deals On Supply's....
DUh! Well now I know... So, you think that 2 dollars is a good price for these Purdy roller covers? I haven't heard the Purdy name before so I wasn't sure. I have alot of experience painting, but am just now getting into the business of residential painting. I have done a few jobs and all have come out great, happy customers also. I am about to give an estimate for a 9 office building.. Any ideas on how to estimate per square foot of wall space. Up until now I have been estimating by the job. Customer buys all the paint, which hasn't been a problem yet. I think on this next job, I will have to supply the paint. How would I go about giving a good price?
