Cutting In Curved Drywall Edges
From time to time I have to change the color from one room to another
that has the curved drywall edges. Taping pulls the mud off the primed and previously painted edge especially if there is a light texture on it. What would the best way to paint the edges? thanks |

Re: Cutting In Curved Drywall Edges
try using a heat gun to warm the sticky residue before removing the tape ,and pull slowly ! and at a 45 degree.

Re: Cutting In Curved Drywall Edges
I use low-tack tape, I can't remember who makes it (Most paint stores have something similar, I get mine at Sherwin-Williams) it has just a bit more tack than a post-it note, and is a little thinner than regular tape. It is mainly used for stripes, but works well for changing colors. When I apply it, I press it on and use a clean rag to press edge tight and rarely have any problem with bleeding, and that is usually only if the existing surface is really rough.

Re: Cutting In Curved Drywall Edges
Taping pulls the mud off the primed
and previously painted edge especially if there is a light texture on it. thats why I suggested using heat ,so it will loosen the adhesive qualities.3m 60 day tape is only meant for 60 day clean removal in direct sunlight if I am not mistaken. |
