By qualifying you mean screening right?

If so--

Are you in the process of selling the house?

Have you ever hired a professional painter?

How did you hear about us?

Who are you getting other prices from?

When are you thinking of getting the work done?

The answers to those questions will give you alot of answers. I use them all the time and it saves me many headaches and lost time and I also get feedback about other contractors.

Alright... I have the least experience here since i don't paint for a living... SO, I'll just have to throw out what the MOST IMPORTANT question I ask new customers is...

"How would you like to pay for this?"

Asking why are you having this project painted now? - answers many questions. Use with "how soon do you need this done?"
