Crew Kit
How is yours organised?
Mine invariably looks like crap at the end of the day and we blow a lot of time getting it clean.. We basically use 5 or 6 plastic bins with lids but there's no organised layout so stuff just gets chucked in anywhere my guys feel like it.
I'm looking fir a new system and would appreciate peoples input and/or pictures.

I don't really have any pictures of my job box, but I do use the clear plastic bins in my shop. They are labeled, and the shelf is labeled below them so they go back in the right spot.

I'll add that I've been toying with the idea to make a separate job box for specific jobs. For example, one with all our wallpaper removal tools, one for hanging commercial vinyl, one for painting, etc. But the thing holding me back is some of the same tools are used for different jobs, so either these tools will bounce from box to box, or I need to buy more tools for each box.

That's the classic problem. You wind of duplicating tools.

Heck, I've BEEN to PWG's shop. It was TOUGH getting two feet in. Looked like my mother's Kitchen (don't make me post any of THOSE pictures, PWG ) Looks like someone broke in and cleaned it out ..... ah... UP for him <BG>.
But seriously, any kind of system is good, it's getting the slugs to keep it organized that is the hard part. I always found containers for specific items were the best way. Have them labeled. "Encourage" organization. If you have kits for different types of jobs, you are GOING to need duplicate tools. But it may be worth it for you.

I got mad Tupperware.
1) Paintkit (for basic painting, small projects, one room...)
2) Madpaintkit (that's for the bigger stuff than just one room...)
3) Woodwork (like real woodwork -- routers, table saws, etc)
4) Buildit (framing, drywall, electric, plumbing, tile, and more)
