Crazy S*#@!

Get to work this weekend when the supers and safety guys are having their holiday weekend. We get to do some things that might not be exactly by the BOOK.

Missed our window for caulking some expansion joints, now there is duct, conduit, etc.....in the way. We have to use a sizzor lift for the first 25 feet, then a 8 foot ladder to get the rest. Surprisingly safe considering the height, but would be frowned upon by saftey standards.

Then a couple of joints we had to use a 40 foot ladder, and then use the lift to get to the ladder.

Not sure how others feel, but I like this stuff. You have to get creative, and be safe. By no means would I put myself in a situation where I didn't feel comfortable. But this work tests your bounds.

Re: Crazy S*#@!

I worked as an electrician in a chemical plant for a while. When we had "questionable" tasks to do, our boss would give us the inside scoop on when the safety director would be in a meeting, and about how long it might last. We generally had little hip pocket lists for when he was in a meeting. He sometimes popped in on the 2nd and 3rd shifts. Other guys would run interfearance for you until you got the word that he was on the premesis. I can't really say that we were ever doing anything all that bad, but just enough to get a letter in your file from the prick.

Re: Crazy S*#@!

We also have a 3 story building going on......like 400 rooms I think. One of our guys saw us smoking, and told us about getting caught.......We just laughed and said, we ain't got caught so wtf!....

Thursday that guy got caught and got sent home for the day!
Next time he gets caught, it's banned from their jobs. Pretty much fired, you can't come back on their jobs.

The important thing is that you yell,

"Hey Mom... Look what i can do"

before you begin your work!

WTH is that place? It looks like a municipal pool.

I want to see a picture of this 40' ladder and you method of getting to it.

Re: Crazy S*#@!

It's a search and rescue pool at the military base here. Pretty amazing....
The pool has pumps to make 3 foot waves in it. If ya ever saw the movie Guardian I think? had Ashton Kutcher and Kevin Costner about the coast guard. The pool simulates rough seas, with big loud speakers, lightning, etc.
